Jannus Hears the Kalling with Kabaka Pyramid and Nattali Rize

Out from the shadows of a crimson blood moon came Nattali Rize and Kabaka Pyramid to rock Jannus Live. Even though it was a dreary Tuesday night with a tropical storm forming above, the night was a celebration of all that is beautiful about reggae music. With a howling wind swirling around the courtyard, nothing could stop the incredible vibrations these two powerhouse acts brought.

No sooner did the clock strike 7 o'clock, and the sounds of Nattali Rize's music boomed through the block. Her voice intensely powered through the whipping air like a fierce songbird. The power coming from the speakers was bombastic, as guitars wailed fervid solos, the bass bellowed, the keyboards and drums hammered thunderously.

However, the true force behind the band's performance was the genuineness that flowed from each and every member of the group. It was mystic and enchanting.

Nattali Rize capped off the set by coming down off the stage to dance with the Tuesday faithful.

This elevation into an incredible realm of song and dance that sent everyone into a blazing roar of raw zealousness.

Throughout his performance, Jamaican native, Kabaka Pyramid channeled the late, great Peter Tosh and Buju Banton.

His ability to subtly include intense chords while simultaneously incorporating a unique combination of reggae and other genres such as hip-hop was masterful.

His lyricism pushed through the microphone and caused the crowd's eardrums to thump and their feet to move. The audience went absolutely wild as he sang his rendition of Mystik Man, as well as his other favorites, such as Red, Gold, and Green. It was absolutely impossible not to join in with the blissful mania.

Everyone who went to Jannus Live that night left with a kalling in their heart. The riddims kept rumbling in their ears even long after the night was over. The calm that had been prevailing on Tuesday evening shattered as a result of the liveliness, which caused the whole avenue to buzz harmoniously.
